According to the Dallas Morning News, a hearing regarding the divorce of ex Dallas Cowboys football star Deion Sanders and Pilar Sanders revolved around the well being of their children. Both of them are currently seeking full custody of the three children who are between the ages of 9 and 12.

The purpose of this hearing was to determine the issue of temporary custody of the children. A counselor that has been working with the children state that all three of the Sanders children are having issues with stress, frustration as well as anxiety over the divorce of their parents. The counselor also testified before the court that she is concerned over the amount of information that the children are learning about their parents through the media.

During the proceedings several issues came up regarding police contact. There was one issue where Pilar Sanders’ sister choked the children and on another occasion the eldest son divulged that his mother had tried to choke him. The counselor also stated that their father was also physically abusive to them but was not able to communicate when the abuse took place.

Deion Sanders testified that he does not talk to Pilar because she is trying to destroy him and everything that he stands for by spreading lies about him. He also stated that her remarks that have been posted all over online has cost him between $500,000.00 to $750,000.00 in endorsements. His child support payments have recently been reduced from $10,500.00 to $5,500 monthly.
