Maureen Sullivan Taylor
Maureen Sullivan Taylor is the founder of STG Divorce Law. She focuses her family law practice in divorce, alternative dispute resolution, including Collaborative Law; Arbitration; Mediation; and litigation of child parenting responsibility issues, income allocation, and asset distribution. As one of the top family law attorneys in Illinois, Maureen has received numerous accolades such as being recognized as a Super Lawyer and Leading Lawyer, being selected as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the American Trial Lawyers Association, and receiving the State of Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs Certificate of Appreciation.
For her law degree, Maureen attended the Northern Illinois University College of Law, where she graduated in 1982 with her Juris Doctor degree. During her time at NIU, she interned at the United States Attorneys’ Office, worked with the Northern Illinois University Law Review, and was honored with the American Jurisprudence Award for Outstanding Achievement in Matrimonial Law.
Upon being admitted to practice law, Maureen spent several years working for various law firms before forming her practice in 1994 and dedicating herself to utilizing her years of extensive experience to provide compassionate family law services to people throughout the Chicago area and suburbs.
Maureen has considerable experience in the realm of family law, and has been involved with many professional organizations concerning this area of expertise; some of her current associations include being a fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois, a mediator with the DuPage County Mandatory Family Law Mediation Program, and Arbitrator & Chairperson with the DuPage County Mandatory Court-Annexed Arbitration Program. Also, she is a member of over a dozen other associations, some of which are the American, Illinois State, and DuPage County Bar Associations, the National Association of Counsel for Children, the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
Community involvement includes Maureen’s service as a member of the Family Shelter Services Advisory Board; providing support to the Lilac Tree that offers resources for persons in the divorce process, and the Grant Park Orchestral Association Board of Directors.
